Hand-Selected Sparkenhoe Red Leicester is a traditional English farmhouse cheese made from the milk of the Clarke family's pedigree Holstein-Friesian herd at Sparkenhoe Farm in Leicestershire. Nutty and mellow in flavour with a beautifully flaky texture, it has the characteristic deep orange-red colour of traditional Red Leicester, created naturally with annatto.

Made using traditional cheesemaking methods and cloth-bound by hand, Sparkenhoe Red Leicester is ripened for six months on beechwood shelves to develop its rounded flavour and distinctive texture. Reviving a style of farmhouse Red Leicester that had all but disappeared, it offers a creamy, savoury character with gentle nuttiness and a clean, lingering finish.

Pair it with apple chutney, farmhouse bread or oatcakes to complement its mellow, nutty character. Also delicious on a traditional cheeseboard, melted into toasties or enjoyed alongside cured meats, pickles and a glass of British ale or cider.
